has HAL forced the Scorehouse into exile?

PostSat May 07, 2022 1:22 pm

top of 7th, 2 out, trailing 5-3. HAL pinch hits, no problem, so now Billy North's at the plate, Bonds sporting a measly .350, .525, .955. on deck .North walks, tying run at the plate. perfect setup. this is what fans dream about when they buy the tickets. Bonds vs Gibson! either Bonds gets intentionally walked(except its Gibson), pitched around or Challenged mano y mano by Big Bob cuz, he IS BIG BOB GIBSON! so we have Bonds against an F9 Gibson who by the way then himself bats in the bottom of the 7th. what does FING HAL DO???!!! North gets caught stealing with team stealing set on conservative, North no setting. no manager would try to steal 2nd with the tying run at first and FING BONDS at the plate. in fact Bonds woulda attacked the manager for allowing it! and probably North for even attempting. even Gibson's home crowd would be flabbergasted at such stupid unbelievable BS!!!

I can only say this game is no where near perfect as far as situations such as this { just like all the tagging up at 2nd and getting thrown out when your behind and the runner is alreadsy in scoring position ]

My favorite is this one: Tying or go ahead run at the plate, runner at 1b, less than 2 out. Batter hits a single. Hal will throw to 3b every F'n time and let the batter take 2b. Who wouldn't cut that off and keep the double play in order?

1926: Ruth thrown out stealing to end the World Series.

Sometimes players do dumb stuff.:-)

what makes it more absurd is that even if North steals second, then you walk Bonds anyway or does dumbass HAL then pitch to him? I wish North had stolen 2nd just to see if HAL woulda walked Bonds or pitched to him with first open?

By far the most maddening part of the game. I will say it seems like equally ridiculous scenarios like this happen for me and against me.

Been seeing a lot more unwanted, ill advised stealing attempts lately.

if Bonds has a vastly inferior hitter behind him who happens to have a positive clutch rating, HAL is pitching to Bonds!
