Assignment of Salaries

PostSun Jun 12, 2022 1:01 pm

I only started playing 365 recently, but played the traditional game back in the 1970s for years. What I can't figure out his how SOM assign salaries to players. For example, I look at Manny Ramirez (1999) and Sixto Lezcano (1979), and can't figure out why Lezcano is valued at $9.35 million and Manny at $9.41 million when Manny has 16 more home runs and 22 additional hits in only 51 additional at-bats with a not insignificantly higher BA. Sixto is better defensively but I don't see how Sixto is worth $9.35 million. I have seen this with others too. If there is a resource out there that explains this, let me know. Thanks.

Nope, no resource only anecdotal conjecture. It has been noted many times though that pricing places a heavy premium on defense.

A 1 defensively, is good for at least $1-1.5m over a 2.

You need to post this on the ATG forum. I read some of those guys were involved in pricing cards.
