I've received a number of PMs about the league, with many ideas about incentives to attract replacements. An intriguing one would be to offer an annual re-boot to any interested managers, new or old, which could go something like this...
- Any interested managers release their entire teams
- All other managers protect their top 10 players, with up to 1 of the others to be drafted in the re-boot
- Drafting teams select a maximum of 5 each from other teams
- If 2 teams are in play, that would be a total of 2 x 5 = 10 selected, 1 from each of the other teams
- If 3 teams are in play, that would be a total of 3 x 3 = 9, etc.
- Re-boot teams would then also select from the rosters that were dropped, too
- After the re-boot teams have 25-30 players each on their active rosters, then the regular free agent draft can begin, as usual
Is there any interest in pursuing a course such as this? Results would be something like...
- Each decent team gives up its 11th best player
- Re-boot teams end up with at least 3-5 solid players to build upon
Not in favor of this at all. Penalized someone for building team through draft, trades, rebuilding year, etc. and then all of a sudden lose 11th best player? Perhaps in a future year with some notice, but to put this in place now without any notice, not in favor of. I would be more incline to offer additional FA/prospect/supp picks, as has been suggested, and something I think, but cannot confirm, you have done before in another league that seemed to work well? Give extra FA picks after a couple of rounds.
Just my opinion on this.
