Ohtani Number of players glitch?

I have Ohtani and after the draft I had 28 players: 11 pitchers, and what showed as 17 (18) hitters.

This is a keeper league with an overage in our salary totals to allow for multiple add/drops among your 40-man roster over the course of the season to help with injury replacements and the like.

However, when I went to make my first inevitable replacements - I couldn't do a one for one drop on a hitter as the system thinks I already have 17 hitters because Ohtani shows up in both the hitters and the pitchers. Now I am running a 27 man team as opposed to a 28 man team.

Is this a known glitch? Is there a fix for this?

It isn't a "glitch" per se. He shows up as both a hitter and a pitcher, because he is eligible to play both. His salary accounts for this. He is essentially two roster spots in a single player card.
