All three teams I posted were standard autoleagues, no themes. Not sure I buy the “better competition” theory. I know I’ve said this before, but if autoleagues are soft, then racking up rings should be easy. But that isn’t the case.
I probably should fool around with this some more, and see what can be figured out, if anything, but I have to admit my enthusiasm has been in decline for awhile. :?

Well, in BS Tour, the problem is winning rings yields 5 points which is huge. But winning rings is more of a crapshoot than having a good win %.

So, I would say you may be right on rings vs generic autoleague competition, but I think win % suffers more in BS tour leagues than generic autoleagues. No proof offered here though. Just my perception. At least when I look at the opponents in each (again, not wrt rings). But that is a red herring, I didn't need to mention it. Honestly I had just gotten up from a post long-run nap and maybe was punchy.

As for declining enthusiasm, yep I hear that. I have been whittling down or offloading credits for more than a month to make a clean break for a little while. Best, Frank

I like the strategy and have tried offshoots of this, but a correction to try that will make it work better in my opinion is getting 2 9 inning *pitchers to pitch every other day and two or three s5 s6 pitchers for the other % of starts and have the 9 inning starting pitchers start every other day.

Then the bullpen is rested enough for the poor pitchers and HAL will continue to go with the S9 pitchers longer, which should be what you want, leading to less tired performances by the R1 relievers and giving major headaches to managers.

Once you make the playoffs you have the R1 pitchers set to come in for the R9 pitchers right away if needed setting the actual roles and taking away any do not remove before F9 as you want to win every playoff game you can.
