Through the decks

PostTue Aug 30, 2022 9:04 pm

Ok gentlemen. By my count there are slightly more than 400 players who appear in the 1977, the 70s mystery set and the ATG9 set.

I purpose that we run three leagues concurrently. One in each deck. Before we draft each team will draft 8 players that they must use in all three leagues and who must remain on their teams throughout. I can email a spreadsheet of the eligible players.

So for instance. Team 1 drafts Rod Carew. They must use Rod in the 1977 league, the 70s mystery set league and the atg9 league.

The rest of your teams may be made up of any other eligible players in the deck.

You do not have to use the same season just the same player.

A 9th round will draft a stadium that will be able to be in all three leagues.

I will send out three invites upon sign ups and will provide the spreadsheet of eligible players to anyone who provides me with an email address to send it to.

barterer2002, this is one of the most creative theme leagues I've seen. I've copied, and stickied, your call for members to the ATG....1982, 1977.....'60's, 70's, 80's.... forums. Keep an eye on those Forums for new members so you can update your list in this Forum.

League rules

We are going to play three season. 1977, mystery 70s and ATg9. If anyone would like the links to these other leagues just to stash your players in as we start building rosters let me know and I can send invites.
Mystery 70s will start when this league reaches game 81
ATG will start when the 1977 league ends.

Before starting we will draft 8 players who appear in all three decks these are your core players. We will also draft a stadium. Do not have to use the same card/year but do have to use the same player. So for instance if I draft Dave Kingman in 1977, obviously for mystery you get whatever year but in ATG you can use any Kingman year that is carded in the set.

You MAY trade any of your core players as long as you get a core player back in return. In other words. All teams must have 8 at all times. If you trade prior to the next sets draft the trade Carrie’s forward. So, for instance. In the 1977 set. If you trade blyleven for Carlton prior to the mystery set draft then that trade carries forward for thr mystery and atg sets as well. If you trade after the draft for mystery then it Carrie’s foreword for atg but not for mystery. It might sound complicated but any questions let me know.

The draft. I will post the order once I get a randomizer run. When it is your pick you have a four hour window to make a selection. That 4 hour timer does not run from 9Pm until 8am the next morning your local time. We are in several different time zones here including Hawaii so 8 will post next to the owners name the time frame that his clock is not on as translated into Eastern Daylight Time. So for instance. Barterer2002 (9pm-8am eastern). hamilton17. 11pm-10am Mountain). Rolandzuet (3am-2pm Hawaii). The times listed are the times you do not need to be on the clock but you may pick of you wish.
Suppose the player before me drafts at noon. I have until 4 pM to make my pick. If we get to 401 and I have not picked. The next person can make a pick. I jump in whenever I can with mine but we aren’t stuck waiting forever. If you are not going to be available feel free to send me proxy picks to post for you. I will try to keep up listing when the next pick runs out of time. We need 9 rounds. 8 players and a stadium. We are using 70s stadiums obviously (available in the 1977 deck) and if you want to take one early you may

Any questions please post them (so everyone gets the answers.
Have fun.

Bryan,
The list of players ... how possible would it be to list card value next to each card?

Mick. I wish I had done it when I made the spreadsheet. But adding it in now is another several hours that I don’t really have. Bit I agree it would have been nice.
