I don’t think we are expected to go three deep with 4’s at every position. Even with a full lineup of 4’s as back ups Hal will do what Hal does

Yes but I can adjust lineups for the next day to have all 4's unless I really get nailed in with injuries. I have set up 4 to backup my 4's

I don't know if it's a rule or not, but we all should agree for no defensive replacements. For example if I replace Pozo a 5 at catcher with Varsho a 4, Hal is going to change Gurriel a1 to 1B & Hoerner a 2 at second, etc.

While I do agree that Hal may independently make more changes, I don’t agree with this rule change. I specifically got Alfaro at C as the only 4 with a (-3) throwing for defensive changes. It seems that was a risk we all took by only saying a player must have a 4 defense on his card (Ie: Betts or Gurriel) instead of saying “no position on card better than a 3 or something.” However, if you guys vote to not allow that, I’ll go along.

I think we all need 4 fielding backups to be specified. If you don’t specify a back up and someone on your team who is better than a 4 can play that position, Hal will use him automatically. I agree with you keyzick

The above is correct. Hal will still do as he does but by assigning a 4 as bu it limits his intervention
