PLEASE READ

Gentlemen, I've gotten some Questions regarding Roster Issues that I need to clarify. The questions (primarily) ask what if it's Round 25 (or before) and we need to fill a certain spot to make a team legally draftable per SOM AD Rules.

Examples:
1. You need a 2nd Catcher and there's no C available at your letter
2. You need a 2nd Catcher and you cannot afford the only C at your letter
3. You need a 5th "Pure Reliever" and there's not one available
4. You need simply a hitter (or pitcher) and there's not one available at your letter

Here's the ruling on those examples:
1. You would then go to the following letter (if at "O" you would go to "P," and so forth) until you found a Catcher.
2. This example would refer to The Rule as stated:
Be mindful of the cap though. If you run out of cap space, and are forced to draft a player you can't afford, you will have to drop another player to make room for it. The rules used to state your most expensive player, but I find that too harsh and will deem it to be one of your top 5 players (in salary)..... So you would drop one of the players that fits the Rule and get your 2nd Catcher at that letter.
3. You go to the next available letter to find a "Pure Reliever"
4. Same, go to the next available letter.

We're not in this to impose harsh penalties on those who wait until the last Round to get one of the players they must have to draft legally. However, each Owner is required to control the cap throughout the draft so you're not cash strapped in needing one of those legal players. I suggest you don't cut it close on cap if you don't have that 5th Pure Reliever yet or 2nd Catcher yet. when entering the Final Round.

That said - any of the above RARELY happens. The 5th Pure Reliever rule by SOM is restricting our drafting a little more than when SOM didn't have that, so I understand the chance of it happening is more than it used to be.

* OK to address the next Owners turn if a letter(s) was skipped in the above examples:
You would go back to the next letter you would have had.

Any questions/issues about the above feel free to ask. Anything you don't understand ask. There's still a few more Rounds to go before we get to the last Round. I highly suggest you don't wait until the last Round to get your 5th Pure Reliever or 2nd Catcher.

I suppose I’m in that situation. But I have not waited until my final pick. I waited until my final 4 picks to fill RP roles.

Just impose those same rules if it happens BEFORE the last round.
