Not good for the top 10 seeds:

Only the 6th seed made it through to the finals.

Beyond shocked that I could end up being the top seed in the finals. I haven't seen a top 10 choke quite like this before like ever.

Hendrix won it all from the 12 spot last year. Crazy. It’s like draft picks are just a giant waste of time. Who would have thought?

Huh, I drew exactly the opposite conclusion from this year's results so far. Three rounds of picks for a 25 man roster may not quite be enough to give the seeding advantage that was earned. And I'm saying that again this year as a middle-seeded manager as opposed to being a high-seeded manager last season. Not that picking exactly who you wanted would consistently produce winning seasons against this level of competition. This game is not like that. But it seems clear that only getting your top three picks - when there are so many top-pick worthy players - is not a guarantee of anything.

The challenge of this game - and particularly this year's player set that I still have very little clue in accurately assessing - is like a fascinating puzzle to be solved.

I completely agree, no reason for the semis and finals to not just be a complete 25 round non-serpentine draft.

Well Christano... the 6th seed didn't choke and secured # 1 pick in the Finals draft last night...

No need to say that you can kiss deGrom... GOODBYE...

I think 3 rounds is good. Maybe could go 5. Unless there was better software developed, 25 rounds would take around 6 weeks.

Does anyone have a handy standings list for the finals. Understand that it will change as the playoffs proceed but would just be interesting to see where we stand.

It's human nature to be skeptical and assume worst-case scenarios, but let's not forget that with Jeepdriver's outstanding oversight this year, all three semifinal leagues (36 people) took a maximum of three days to draft three rounds. That's the way it's supposed to work and the way it should normally work. That can be the pattern for future drafts. So, extending the forum draft back to 7 rounds would mean about a week of drafting. With all of the work to get through the first five rounds, a 7 player non-serpentine draft in the semis and finals seems worth it to me. Just don't get rid of some level of forum draft based on finish from the first five rounds, or we really minimize the performance from those rounds.

I think it is safe to say that Buxton is all mine in the finals. Party time.
