Enquiring minds want to know...
HITTERS
- Season 1 has 485 hitter cards
- Including 319 unique players
- Of those, 5 also have pitcher cards, all at higher prices as pitchers *
- So 319 - 5 = 314 possible hitters for season 1
- 18 teams x 15 hitters = 270 maximum on rosters
CATCHERS
- Teams are required to have at least 2 players with catcher as primary position
- So 18 x 2 = 36 minimum on rosters
- There are 54 hitters in season 1 with catcher as primary position
PITCHERS
- Season 1 has 337 pitcher cards
- Including 238 unique players
- Of those, 167 are SPs and 71 are RPs
RELIEF PITCHERS
- The league will require only 3 "pure" RPs instead of the standard 4
- So 18 x 3 = 54 minimum on rosters
- There are 71 pitchers in season 1 with "pure" RP ratings
SALARY CAP
- Estimate at 15 hitters + 7 SPs + 3 RPs = 25 maximum players per team
-
- Total price of most expensive cards of each of the top 270 hitters = $980.48 mil
- Average for hitters per team = $54.47 mil
-
- Total price of most expensive cards of each of the top 126 SPs = $934.33 mil
- Aveage for SPs per team = $51.91 mil
-
- Total price of most expensive cards of each of the top 54 RPs = $78.64 mil
- Average for RPs per team = $4.37 mil
- $54.47 + 51.91 + 4.37 = $110.75 mil
- In other words, all teams will likely have roster totals very close to the $110 mil salary cap
STADIUMS
- There are 20 stadiums available in season 1
- Forbes Field has 2 different years available, so there are 19 unique stadiums for the 18 teams
- Therefore, those who select stadiums at the end will have very limited choices
* BOTH PITCHER AND HITTER CARDS
- Donaldson, John at $6.07 mil as SP and $0.51 as CF
- Gans, Jude at $4.78 mil as SP and $0.50 as OF/1B
- Mendez, Jose at $4.99 mil as SP and $1.03 as Inf/OF
- Russell, Reb at $8.85 mil as SP and $7.33 as OF
- Wood, Joe at $10.06 mil as SP and $0.92 as OF
