It's difficult to understand and accept why The #s 1 and 2 seed, Christano and MaxPower, could wind up in the same division...



And as shocking is Christano's draft... his 7 first draftpicks, including # 1 overall, have all been 0.50M$ players... Maybe he wants to keep his hand to himself and wait till the last moment to make his move...

The only reason I can think of (other than showing he could win even after essentially drafting after everyone else) is to wait until everyone has their ballpark and their players...and then to number crunch the best ballpark and players against that set-up.

Cristano just wants attention, he got that. True, there's lots of players left to pick up in a 12 team league. But Max should feel pretty good in his division. But it looks like Cristano will probably pick up a lot of the lefty killers, always available and cheap or so, to play against Max's expected lefty ballpark team. Factor that into your pitching, Max. Scherzer was good.

Absolutely epic conclusion to the draft. I spent the first 2/3 of the draft selecting for Hilltop but Pikesville drafted Navin early on, and I got increasingly paranoid about giving Cristano the opportunity to go lefty against Hilltop and Navin, to the point where I started stashing Shea players at the end of the draft to keep my options open. Like a CRAZY person! Meanwhile Cristano keeps drafting 50 centers (also like a crazy person) so I have next to no idea what park he'll take with the last pick of the draft. Time comes to pick my park and I am 50/50 between Shea and Hilltop. Ultimately I decide I can't live with the risk of Cris going lefty if I take Hilltop, so I take Shea even though my roster fits better in Hilltop. After which Cristano's queue fires and he takes...Minute Maid! Now suddenly I'm in the favorable situation I was trying to prevent him from being in! Unreal.

Okay but the LAYERS to this ballpark drama at the end...

As the draft was winding down I clumsily tried to get some intel out of Cris about which park he was leaning towards. He'd made a comment earlier in the draft that, assuming the rest of the division was righty-righty-bopper (which indeed was how it was shaping up), then his preferred park in that context would be smallball. And I kept obsessing over that because for me in that position it would be lefty every day of the week, and I kept wondering if he was trying to misdirect me. So late in the draft I tried to get him to elaborate and obviously he did not take the bait, and I said well you can't blame a guy for trying given the state of your roster lol, it's not revealing much in terms of park. So Cris voluntarily sets a queue of four ballparks, and announces that he's queued smallball, lefty, bopper, righty, in that order, and that whichever one is at the top of the queue at the end of the draft will be his park. This is like 2 or 3 rounds before the end. Anyway, I just now saw the final messages he sent in the draft chat after I picked my park:

cristano1 Barn22-F: That was my lefty park proxy. Way to royally F the both of us!
cristano1 Barn22-F: I had: Forbes 57, Shea, Mile High, and Minute Maid.

So his top 3 parks all got poached, the final one by me. But if I'd gone Hilltop like I was considering, he would've queued into Shea, which was the exact scenario I was so paranoid about. BUT he seems to think that lefty vs 2 righty isn't even advantageous, as evidenced by his comment that I f'ed myself as well. The whole thing just fascinates and amuses me to no end.

understand and accept? cmon chabs...it's randomized...and no scrubs in these divisions that I can see

Cristano fires the last shot, dropping Lundgren for Waddel. I kind of think Max saw that one coming, I kind of did (told Eric O that if it were me, I'd go with an all lefty starting rotation in this league)
