D2D trash talk and draft comments thread

When we get to rule discussions:

1. D2D champ with best total record drafts 20, other champ 19. The rest in order of combined record.

2. We limit the prospect draft to two rounds. We really, really, really need to find a way to improve the quality of the free agent draft. For MOST teams it takes three or four years to overcome a bad team. This hurts with holding onto owners and attracting new owners.

3. Lastly, reduce the supplemental draft to one round. I give up on trying to get it eliminated altogether but maybe only one round will add some talent to the free agent draft.

Need some time to think through, but I think for me personally to be open to Eddie's #2 suggestion I'd feel a little more comfortable with 3 rounds and 3 year holds on players prior to promotion. Maybe I can get to two rounds, but then feel we need more time to allow them to develop. As the rules are now, this is how it plays out (at least for me):

Every two years I have to make a choice between promoting talent that isn't carded (which I can really only do for one year), trading away that excess talent to teams that can absorb it, and dumping playable top 4 round FA players back into the pool... So in that sense I think it allows some of that talent to come back into the pool, just maybe not the first or second round talent that I think Eddie is more concerned about.

I mostly agree with these, particularly #3. I also forget how the previous discussions went but wouldn't mind eliminating the supplemental draft completely.

Agree with 2 rounds for prospect draft and eliminate supp draft or one round at most.

For prospect draft one year notice. So not this year but start 2024

as one of the ones rebuilding i agree...no supplemental draft at all

As someone who is not rebuilding, I'll be happy to see some of the good players available at supplemental filtering down to me during free agency when I actually have the roster room to draft them.
