Jim, since your roster is at 40 (before the trade), there is no room to promote Jones. Also, drops are only made during the FA and Supp. Drafts and in the case of an uneven trade involving player(s) on the 40-man roster.

Could Garneau be included in trade, making it an unbalanced one, and then I would drop Garneau so that roster stays at 40? Or just wait until drops are called for in the next couple of weeks and announce it then?

I think Dave's idea works. In the alternative if I can include Matt Allen in the trade to and keep Jones in prospect status for now. new league new rules, happy to adapt if shown the light

This league allows Prospects to be promoted anytime there is room on the 40-man roster so, yes, the Garneau scheme will work. Go ahead and re-post the trade with Garneau changing hands and then being dropped.

looking at prospect roster I have Jhoan Duran P on my prospects picked in 2021 and Ghost has him also picked in 2022

tpiercesn drafted Duran during the 2021 Prospect Draft. MFL536 took over Tom's team for the start of the 2022 season.
I've removed Duran from Richard's team.
