1/2 Team Keeper League Thread

Please list the half team you wish to drop from last year. As a reminder, after your drop, you must end up with 2 Pitching Teams, and 2 Hitting Teams.

Once all drops are listed, this will also be used as the draft order to then add back a 5th half team.

I think I had WAS pitching but they were so bad I didn’t roster any players

So I know this will will probably go down in flames, but here goes. I think whoever owns the Angel's hitting should be able to use Ohtani's pitching card for one season and whoever owns Angel's pitching should be able to use Ohtani's hitting card for the other season (assuming we will play two seasons).

Ohtani is such a special case. His card is priced at using him both as a hitter and pitcher.

What do you guys think?

We might have to because I don't know if the game engine can keep him exclusive to one or the other. He might end up pinch hitting for the pitching team and coming in in the 14th inning of a game to pitch for the hitting half.

I don't know how it will work exactly.

As long as the 2 halves of the Angels can agree on when they get to use him I have no issue. Or it can be left up to the autodraft for season 1.

Ohtani - last year we had him as a hitter for both leagues because the LAA Pitching was cut, and we didn't want to penalize the keeper of the LAA Hitting by not allowing him to use Ohtani.

Some options:

- Hitter Season 1, Pitcher Season 2 (or visa versa)
- Coin flip for usage each season
- Hitter both seasons
- Pitcher both seasons

I suggested this last year and it seemed to get some support from at least ehlekev1 and keyzick:

I would think that the only fair thing to do is that since we play 2 seasons, the LAA pitching gets him for one season and the LAA hitting gets him for the other season. You could set it up so that the team that finished lower has their choice of which season they want to use him.

Last year he was a batter for both seasons because our decision came after the LAA pitching was cut, so the person picking them did so knowing that he didn't have Ohtani.

I agree with Falcon29, it seems a fair way to do it.

And as I'm the one with the LAA pitching, I'm delaying my drop decision until I know what's going on with Ohtani.
