The Inquirer's article stated that the 6 of 376 Phillies who died from this awful illness represented a ratio 638 times higher than the general population's which is between 2 and 3 cases out of 100 000...

Crazy numbers... food for thought...

 :o

This is terrible. Baseball, seems to have a lot of correlative evidence. How about NFL football? Though, those guys don't have to play all the games MLB players do, but lots of these fields, practice fields as well.

Every game -- MLB or NFL -- should be played on grass. Isn't that what the Euro soccer leagues demand? They're even bigger worldwide than our leagues -- their players will only play on grass, that's what they demand. Understandably. Love my country, but we need to get it right. Grass! Always.

Condolences and Peace

Palmtana,
Very sorry for your loss.

I am sure Chabs can also change the title and/or something else too.

Peace

All true. I am amazed that a group of the former Phils haven't made a public pressure drive to honor their teammates' families and also take care of their own interests. It seems unfathomable to me--clearly not a coincidence. Who knows root cause but we know it isn't because they wore purply-reddish P's

My wife passed away from glioblastoma in January. I check on this Forum every day to see what you all are up to.
This thread gives me a jolt every time I see the title. It seems that it has probably run it's course so I'll leave it open until the A.M. and then, if their is no objection, will lock it so it can drift down the page. Thanks for your understanding.

Thank you for your thoughts. Lorna elected to not have treatment. She passed within a couple of months of the diagnosis without pain.
