Record Books

PostSat Mar 18, 2023 3:12 pm

FYSA:

I always wondered about this, and just had my question answered. It seems that from time to time, one of my teams that should have made the record books in some category would not ever show up and I did not know what was going on.

It turns out, that the record books include only teams from “official” autoleagues. $80 mil “public” leagues are NOT official autoleagues.

So I post this only so that you know if you are setting out to attack some category, be sure you join a vanilla autoleague, and not a league opened by another manager, otherwise your effort will not be recognized in the 365 Record Book.

Yeah wasn't always this way.
Moose used to manually maintain a thread here and record books on the wiki that was more varied across caps and categories...but SOM wanted to go a different direction with the current setup.

I was maintaining those records until about a year ago but then a lot of records started to disappear and turned out that SOM was purging old leagues. Without telling me I might add. So I just gave up on trying to keep that going as so many links to records just became non functional.

I wasn't happy about that. Turns out SOM was trying to trim down their database as it was just getting too full.

Another one of those things we lost without any explanation. A lot of work went into those records - frustrating to just see them drop off.

Yup.
And to say databases were getting full is just a strange thing if that was their reason.
In the 21st century, as part of one of the major industries without artificial markets created by the state, storage has become progressively cheaper in our lifetimes.
Was too bad but Moose--we appreciate the yeoman's work all those years.

Their explanation was something along those lines. As an I.T. person myself, I just equate that as "costs money". In this case, a management decision which robbed the membership of all those records that people took the time to post and that I also wasted my time on and that I might add that I got no compensation for. When I had those records running on my own web server, THEY APPROACHED ME and wanted to host the records. Services continue to decline.

Its too bad this small company doesnt listen to the paying customers more..this is such a small business that depends on customer loyalty but doesnt care about any input from them that could improve the product....and I will use this opportunity to once again say FIX the injury system...ive played 40 plus teams and only had 1 P miss a gm he was a RP...when you have guys with less than 50ABs having the same injury chance and games missed as a guy with 599 plate appearances something is WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..............personally I dont see this company in existance once Hal Jr is gone or us over 50yr olds die off
