Certainly true for all/any of us.
And how about this thought experiment for this style of ATG competitions:
Imagine you have the top Maddux card against the top Bonds card.
They face each other 500 times.
How should that look? Should Maddux have a 2.00 ERA? But then Bonds hits only 15 HRs?
Now multiply that to fill out an entire staff and lineup of ATG cards. What wins out in these matchups every night?
There are bound to be winners and losers if it is indeed random--I'd be more worried (and also bored) if every player kind of coalesced to some average middle performance.
With a binary competition system (hitter card OR pitcher card at each face-off), there is simply no middle ground
