This is my take on it

https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/93982/2022/1/3022

Strat-0Matic has set a "VALUE" of this Superstar at approx $10,000,000.
Phil is correct to value him as a $6,000,000 Pitcher but shows no value for him as a hitter. That i do not agree with at all. He is a 2-way player and should be valued in our league with other top players. I just signed Soto to a 7 yr 9,000,000 contract which i think is fair value for a top RF. I think we can all agree that 6,000,000 for his pitching and 4,000,000 for his hitting ( Discount included) of approx:25% might work.It would not be fair to Evil or the league to add 6 mil 2X that coming in at 12,000,000 would be to high according to our salary structure in Moneyball to pay him.

so my vote is $10,000,000 Fair market value

Strat on-line has Ohtani valued at $11 M for 2021 and $10.25 M for 2022. The Moneyball 5 year extension amounts for DH/SP total $11.613 M. The Moneyball total in my mind isn't that far out of whack with what SOM values him at. I think $11.6 M is reasonable.

I gave my opinion. I proposed SP salary times 1.5 I think that ends up being a pretty fair amount

The 50% price would go from 4,927,000 to 7,390,500 and the 25% price would go from 6,033,000 to 9,049,500

Those numbers look pretty good compared to other players and his worth as a multi-position player

I'd be okay with signing him at his current SOM price of $10.25M. Anything higher seems excessive. I agree with Paul that $6M is a joke.

I've decided to let SOM decide. Since our salary structure is somewhat anchored to SOM, especially through the ARB settlement process, it seems like the most equitable resolution. Ohtani is signed for $10,250,000.

I set up the league called MBBL 2023 Season 1. You have all been sent the invitation email.
