Next Dave will amaze us as he

produces a league out of thin air…

While we’re waiting, can I

offer you a beverage?

fearlessleader,
start scanning the rosters for tampa bay, padres, blue jays, rangers, orioles, etc. for a player you'd like to add. you can only select players who have cards for only one of the unselected franchises. examples include stanton from tampa bay, cal ripken from the O's, delgado or bautista from toronto, gwynn from the padres. we are allowed to try have one such free agent on our roster. you put them at the head of your autodraft list to give yourself the best chance to get them. if you miss, you can go back after the autodraft and add as a free agent. you don't have to worry too much about the players from your two franchises as you will be free to drop and add from your roster between the autodraft and opening day {after opening day, 5% waiver fee applies}. i'm sure other folks will be happy to fill in the things that i've left blank. PJK

p.s. how are Boris and Natasha doing?

The next step is for the Commish to create the league and give us the password so that we can enter our team. Please note the following:

1. It's not important to populate your initial roster for the draft with players that will be on your final roster, as long as they are players to which your 2 franchises own the rights. Note that players with cards for more than one franchise are owned by the franchise with the highest priced card. In the event the franchise with the highest priced card is not selected, the franchise with the next highest priced card owns the rights. For example, Toronto owns the rights to Roger Clemens, since it owns the highest priced Clemens card, but since Toronto wasn't selected, Boston owns the rights to Clemens, since it owns the second highest priced Clemens card.

2. Each manager can add ONE free agent from 1 of the 6 unselected franchises (Toronto, Arizona, Texas, San Diego, Baltimore, Tampa). That franchise must own the exclusive rights to the player. So, for example, Tony Gwynn is an eligible free agent, since San Diego owns Gwynn's exclusive rights. Even though Toronto was not selected, Clemens IS NOT a free agent, since it does not own exclusive rights to Clemens.

3. Each team is allowed to put just one free agent on its draft card. If the free agent is not won during the autodraft, select a free agent during the frenzy. Teams may not have more than one free agent at a time on their roster.

Good luck to everyone this league.

You mentioned a "stanton" from tampa bay? Hope you're not referring to my Giancarlo Stanton from cross-state Miami Marlins. He's mine..........all mine! Hands off!!!!

I think ALL members of the unchosen team’s should be available for free agency

I’ll use Bernie’s example: Roger Clemens, who’s highest card is Toronto.

Because Toronto wasn’t chosen shouldn’t make his card unavailable;

It SHOULD be available for that very reason; it’s the controlling card.

Why is it disqualified?

I like that they are not available because it gives strategy to the late round picks. How could anyone have passed on the Mariners with the last pick knowing you’ll also lock up Johnson.
This is one of the things that make this league different than other dual franchise leagues.

Every spot in the draft has its own idiosyncrasies,

And I’m not trying to pull any shit with anybody here; you

can plainly see that I have a dog in this hunt, but I don’t understand

disqualifying the highest salary card of any player that’s available.

If Boston had the highest salaried Roger Clemens then and only then should

the Toronto card be disqualified because it was already owned;

as I see it right now it’s not owned by anybody…

I’m not a lawyer but, Bernie how am I doin?

I respect your opinion, and it sucks to debate this when my

position is solely for my benefit…but I think I have a point,

albeit selfishly self serving and I’m ashamed of myself,

Now hand over Clemens and no one gets hurt…
