In regard to contract extensions, is an option year allowable?

No. Option years can only be offered in the free agent process.

Remember, we're looking at the 2023 year column when making our contract decisions. We're making decisions for the upcoming MLB season.

The Charlottetown Knights announced today that utility outfielder Victor Reyes has tested positive for a banned substance and has received a suspension for the entire 2022 season. Team owner Oldman Smith was quoted as saying that he thanks Reyes for his service but that the team has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to PEDs and would not be renewing his contract for the 2023 season. Smith also said that the team would redouble their efforts to maintain a drug free environment so that a repeat of this incident will be highly unlikely in the future.
