My leagues I’ve run it’s still encouraged to check in. Now if a manger says they aren’t going to be around in a no clock period that’s fine. But you’re clearly around.
Like I said, letter of the rule, you are within your right. I’d just like to stop checking every half hour to get in with my life. So yes totally self serving but I’d feel the same way if I was picking 11 slots after you.
But it's OK that you took over 15 hours in another league to pick and the player was very clear who you were taking. Alot more clear in that league than this one. I had multiple offers to consider for the pick and even one person who made an offer just to move draft along, what a joke that one was, but true. Rules state that you wrote even that no clock in Round 1, if there was a time allotment, then I would have picked in that time, very rarely that I get timed out. If you don't like the rule propose a change then. It's also the weekend and some of us have obligations at times, we all have lives outside of SOM. Once I knew there was no trade to be made, I picked, so move along.
You can go ask Keith, we exchanged numerous offers last night and this morning and afternoon, so it's not like I was being lazy and not checking in on offers.
The draft you are referring to went live at 11pm EDT I happened to still be awake, but if it had gone live 10-15 minutes later very good chance I wouldn’t have seen it until sometime after 10 today as that’s when I got up. One other major difference in that draft it was for the VERY 1st pick not the 12th. To me, given most clocks start at 10am, I waited about 4 hours not 15 given that 8-9 of those hours were overnight. Thought that was very reasonable.
Again, the “no clock” was intended to let everyone know a draft had started, not for trade negotiations. I’ve already posted what I thought were reasonable exceptions and I’ve already said twice that by letter of the rule you were in your right, and that I felt it’s not the spirit of the rule. I’m not alone in thinking this.
You disagree. Point made.
