Hiding a weak pitcher

I'm playing the 1982 set in a 24-man league. The relievers are THIN. I have 10 pitchers and one of them is really bad. I'm afraid to cut him because there aren't any better pitchers available. Is it possible to adjust my settings to hide him? Could I set him to avoid lefties and then make him a left-handed specialist?

Putting him in the Mopup role could help.

Your solution work won’t. I believe the LH specialist and avoid settings are linked. Here’s what I do:

Set avoid to the worst side.
Set “quick hook.”
Set “don’t use before 8th.”
Have a better set up pitcher and closer designated so in 8th and 9th Hal will have choices .
I don’t believe you can set up mop up with the avoid setting on.

Do you HAVE to have 10 pitchers in the 1982 Leagues? If not, drop him for a .50 offensive scrub.
