who would have thunk?
Cristano of course.
Down 3-1?
don't get too comfortable....
A few of us went lefty because the league was highly righty-biased. Look at team stats and records vs LHPs.
Take Johan Santana for instance--31 wins, 2 playoff wins, 9 shutouts, 1 no hitter, and won the MVP and Cy Young. In fact I even dropped Marichal and another RH SP early season for Lefty Grove and Chuck Finley who both crushed it too. It was pretty clear that most teams had better offense and better defense against RHP so wasn't weird as it seems at first glance, even for a RH park.
But...as I said at the beginning of the season on these boards when Cristano or Max were crowning themselves as likely victors before we played an inning
, djp77 had an asymmetric team dynamic. He had power from both sides, hit lefties only slightly less as well as righties, and was in a chaos park. He was a wild card and was the wildcard in the truest sense of the word.
And he did it--CONGRATS
*Note--I love the competitive chops of Max and Cristano, so bring on the banter--that was not meant to disparage them in any way of course.
