Haven't tried his '70 card, but i don't exactly like his defense in CF, generally like great D up the middle. Here's how the record books says he performs:

.303 BA .342 OBP .542 .884 SA. This equates to 4th best for CFers with a 2 rating at 6.49M or below. Not bad. Lankford, Berger and Pafko are better OPS-wise.

I've had great value results from his cheaper '71 card, though, as a .98M platoon player in any of the outfield positions. Lots of power, but low OBP. Good for lower salary caps.

Here's an example of Hack's point on the cheaper card in a platoon at $60M. Very good numbers for the price, IMO.

The 6m Gaston's accumulated Stats on the Stats History Page shows a slash line of .303/.342/.542 with an .884 OPS.
Of course, those numbers come from 80m Leagues, I believe, so he wouldn't produce that well in 100m or more....
