There is an opening for one owner in our Through the Years Franchise League.
This is a 12-team dual franchise league that began with the 1982 card set and we have since progressed through the 2021 season and have played all of the special release sets as well. We are getting ready for 2022 and need one owner to take over a team.
Everyone has two teams and gets to keep one of the two as we move on, or they can choose to throw both back and redraft their first team. Owners will choose the second team of their franchise in a team draft. You will have exclusive rights to all players on your two franchises. No one else can roster them and there is no trading of these players. Players not placed on your active roster serve as your minor leagues. The team you will be taking over is the Miami Rays. You will have the right to keep either the Marlins or the Rays. If you choose to redraft you can pick another team from those remaining which includes the Mariners, Phillies, Orioles and 15 others. I will supply the full list to you once you have joined the league. All dual team franchises consist of one AL, and one NL team.
After everyone has established their two franchises, we hold a 24-pick supplemental player draft using players from the 6 unchosen teams that remain. This is a snake draft, and every team can pick two players. You can also skip your pick(s) you are not required to roster supplemental players. The players chosen in this draft are your property only for as long as they remain on your roster. If you drop them, they become free agents. You can only roster up to two of these players, the remainder of your squad must consist of players from your two franchises. The supplemental players may be traded or switched out for another player from the six unchosen teams or your two franchises.
We play with the unleashed card sets when available. After the 2022 season we will play the 1971 special season and other special releases by STRAT before moving on to the 2023 season next March. You may stay with the leagues as long as you like. Its a fun league and we have played over 20 seasons with 9 of the 12 original owners intact. Come join us.
