Mark Belanger 1969 or 1976. His current cards are terrible.

1998 Fernando Vina

MIL EXP needs a 2nd baseman. They do have Molitor, but his best card is a DH or @ 3B.

Andre Thornton, 1B, either '78 or '84:

'78 ---33 HRs, .262 .377, .516, .893

'84 -- 33 HRs, .271, .366, .484 .850

Any one have cards on these seasons? :D

Righthanded first baseman who usually mashed righties, unique! (I'm not sure what these 78 or 84 cards show, but certainly the '77 card mashes righties.)

High OBP (and power) from a righty first baseman, kinda unusual. Not sure what the cards look like.

Andre Thornton 1984 is a 1L 1b425. 1984 is not super advanced on the card reader.

1978 1b20 4L, with 8 BPHR vs Righties, and positive clutch +4

Alex Rodriguez 1998, Seattle, his 40-40 year (42 homers, 46 steals, SS and seems like he'd have a good rating):

686 123 213 35 5 42 124 46 13 45 121 .310 .360 .560 .919 136 OPS+

Kinda surprised we don't have this in the set yet.

Carney Lansford had some good seasons not represented in SOM so far. Suggest this one:

1981: 102 438 399 61 134 23 3 4 52 15 10 34 28 .336 .389 .439 .828 133

It was a strike-shortened season, but Carney won a batting title (.336) playing third base. Other decent seasons include 1983 (.832 OPS) and 1984 (.781).

The '73 Pedro Garcia at 80 cents is a sleeper. Not the kind of card you're looking for, but it seems to produce better than it should.

He's also a 3e28 @ 2B.

Hack, here's a couple of links to Thornton's cards from the '70s and '80s games, including the '78 and '84 cards you seek:

https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/842060/1680/1/80

I like Thornton's 1975 card. I remember 1975 Thornton as a promising young player with the Cubs. The 1975 card hit very well and IMHO is Thornton's best card.

1975 Andre Thornton, Cubs, 1B, bats R .293 18 60 .428 .516 .944 2R Career highs in BA, OBP, OPS, OPS+. Near career high in SLG. Thornton would likely have had more doubles, HRs and RBI, but only had 372 AB. 1975 is arguably Thorntons's best card.

Agreed, totally like Andre's '75 card after reviewing. Excellent suggestion, BDWard!
