Not going to argue against it in general, but I don't think it's an easy task for whomever will do it.
Currently, when in pre-season, a dropped player leaves a blank spot in the lineup, which is what you'd want. Pitchers stay in assigned RP roles even after being dropped. I'm not sure if an SP would be dropped from the default rotation.
No offense, but I'd put this a few spots behind different team settings for steals of 2b, 3b, and home on a Christmas list.
