Wow, more!? Is there no plans for ATG 10? I'm fine either way but I do kind of miss the scarcity of some players and how intense it made the drafts. Now there are so many cards it's easy to get a very solid rooster. Pros and cons obviously and fun either way, just different.

scorehouse,

Bill responded to your query 2 weeks ago in the ATG Card Discussions Forum.
SOM's POS newsletter, as you characterized it, said the same. Hang in there. August ends on the 31st.

Backfire, just for the sake of conversation….. are you a fan of less cards because it makes the draft more important? I’ve always been of the thought the more the merrier. But I can see the argument for either way

To take it one step further…… I’ve always liked that you can pivot off your initial draft if you missed a few key pieces to your strategy. I like that a bad draft doesn’t kill your season. I also believe the best players would still be the top guys with less cards.

approximately 300 cards from the database start the season. I don't know the total available cards in the ATG set but it doesn't matter to me. I'm always top 1-4 in waivers so everyone chasing a lot of the same cards.

day 15 and counting. Labor Day Weekend is early this year so Aug 30/31 might b the NC drop date? in the interim, playing out my current string of teams. Until the Drop Date, no New Teams. saving my credit stash 4 what hopefully will be a great batch of new cards?

Snooze, snooze. Waiting for SOM cards by when they say is a fool's errand. No trust in their word. Let's hope they rekindle some trust by the end of the month.

I am actually not sure. I used to play in ATG 3 and I remember the draft was very exciting and much more strategic. If you were greedy you could get burned, and missing your first pick happened a LOT more. I remember Koufax and Cobb being hard to get. Then I took a break until ATG 9 and I've found it quite different. I almost always get my first pick, regardless of who I choose. Sometimes I get my entire draft list, and rarely do I miss more than six picks. That said, I do try to draft carefully.

Being able to adapt and reimagine a team in ATG 9 is very easy to do, which is a good thing in itself but does detract from the draft experience. I think the game is more fair and balanced in ATG 9 vs ATG 3, but the actual draft is much less exciting. So if I had to pick, I suppose my answer is that I'm not too sure. But one thing I strongly dislike about ATG 9 is the vast amount of platoon cards, which has created a powerful and IMO, boring meta. If those cards were more limited I'd be happier, and with more and more batches of cards added it seems to exacerbate the issue. This is just my opinion and personal preference.
