2023 Upcoming Semi-Finals

As I said in the Event 6 thread, next up - the semifinals.

Top 8 will go straight to the Finals. A thread will be setup where the Top 8, in order, will start a vote for CAP and DH. The only caps will be 80 or 100. The final four will come out of the Semifinals where the order of picking will be by the League Champion with the highest WINS in their semifinal event. The Finals are Live Draft with an unlimited clock.

The 9-20 finishers will go to a 12 team league - 100 Mil DH

The 21-92 finishers will go to (3) 24 team leagues - 100 Mil Dh

By agreement with SOM, everyone who finishes in the Top 92 will receive a credit to play their semifinals or finals event.

No ballpark restrictions for the Semi's - put your best team and favorite stadium on display. All semifinals leagues will be autodraft. No live drafts.

In the Finals Live Draft, a stadium will be one of the draft picks with no restrictions.

Event 6 starts their playoffs tonight. In case you didn't know, those who won the wild card in their league got 1 point, those who won their division received 2 points. A point more for each win in the playoffs. We are looking for the Top 92 and the Top 8.

As soon as the playoffs winds down to the point that I can get the list finalized, I will create the Finals VOTE and get the SemiFinal leagues created. The 12 team league will be placements 9-20 and the rest will be randomized among the 3 24-team leagues.

Keep in mind, a 24 team semi-finalist not only made it to the FINALS, but WON the Championship last year.

Goffchile. 410. 108. Playoffs against dfriesen. Must win World Series to advance


Nobody else can make the 418 points that is the current cut line.

With the semis done here’s where we look.
Kaashif has advanced which clinches a top 82 slot for him

All four of our teams from the outside have advanced to the finals

Monkey maker and barterer2002 are now tied with TrolleyDodger for 91st place. Trolley has the tiebreakers but both Monkey and barterer 2002 advance with 2 more wins or if either Hamilton fails to win at least 3 games or goffchile fails to win his league (Boobarne would win any tiebreakers at 421 points with his league title but neither of the others have a finals appearance so both Bart and Monkey would win the next tiebreakers and I believe both would win tiebreakers against Hamilton if he tied as well)

Hamilton sits with 418 points. Tied for 94. He needs three wins to reach into that tie for 421 where he would win the tiebreaker against Toyboys and Badrider but lose against Boobarne and if necessary against barterer2002 and MonkeyMaker

Goffchile sits with 414 and needs to win the league to advance. Anything less and he’s eliminated

Everyone from Dodgerfanalways up is guaranteed in.
Boobarne is in unless goffchile and Hamilton both win their leagues and barterer2002 and Monkeymakers both win at least 2 games.
Bad riders is in if 2 of the chasing teams fail to get to 421 points
Toyboys needs 3 chasing teams not to make it
TrollyDodger has the tiebreaker at 420 should it be require but if two teams pass him he’s out.

Congrats to Chuckwonup, looks like he's passed me and is heading to the finals. Top eight should be set.

I’m in. MonkeyMaker is in. Goffchile is done so he’s out. The only thing left to decide is Hamilton who needs 2 wins (currently 1-3 in finals). If he gets those he is in and Toyboys is out otherwise we are set.

I'll be looking at all this soon. Event 6 playoffs will be finished by Wed eve. Thanksgiving will give me time to get my spreadsheet updated, tiebreakers calculated and a definitive top 8 / 92. Once I have that, I will post it. I won't bother SOM until the holidays are over to ask for the Top 92's free credit. So look for Monday for all the Semi Finals leagues to get created. The Finals VOTE thread is now posted, I am making sure there will be no more movement in the Top 8 before I post the order.

Once SOM has confirmed the credits are on everyone's account, I will send the Semi's "INVITES" out. Most likely right after the invites go out, this will be followed by a general email announcing the Semi's.
