Just to clarify:
All the owners I know who are firm believers in the 100+ win curse, also meet the criteria stated early:
it is also their belief that there are modifiers being used, and that they are only being implemented with that very select criteria.
So if you as an owner, have not had a huge number of teams, and don't have a high season and playoff winning %, then no worries, the modifier will not be brought into play and your teams will not be affected.
Believing that you can negate the premise by "well it didn't happen to me..."--then strong chance that your manager stats don't fit the bill.
Does STRAT use modifiers? yes. If you question this, search TREYOMO's thread about the Homerun "normalizer"--Treyomo had noticed that there was an on-going big HR drop off with teams/players that had huge first half season results. So he created a league to test the result.
he created a league where every team had terrible cheap pitching staffs, huge power in the lineups, tons of BP HRs, and all playing in power parks......and every team had the same significant drop off of HRs in the 2nd half of the season.
Also, check out NEVDULLY's (the winningist owner in STRAT) post about this issue---his 100+ win teams have a record of something like 1-28.
and there are others just like that.
