Notes on this season
Of course, the big news is Spider winning 4 of 5 which has never happened before. No one is even close to that kind of continued success. Gbrookes won his first 3 in a row, but never again. The shortest amount of seasons with 4 is Stoney and he did it over 12 seasons.
In fact, only 7 players have four Rings.
Spider has six in 30 seasons. That's a 20% win rate.
He's been in the playoffs 47% (14 of 30) and won 43% (6 of 14) of those 14 appearances. Only Big M has a better percentage in more than 5 appearances, and he was only in 7 playoffs. GBrookes is also at 43% with 3 in 7.
JTJ lost in the playoffs for the 10th straight appearance. The record is 13 straight by Silver. The closest in this futility are Stones (on a current six time streak, and one other time) and JTJ who had another six game stretch. Looking closer, he's lost 16 of his last 17. Thank God for NLD 42!
On the positive side for those two:
- JTJ and Stoney are closing in on Silver's .525 winning PCT. Not sure it's possible to stay ahead of Silver given the quality of the current competition.
Stones has made the playoffs three straight, 4 of 5, 7 of 9 and 8 of 12. He has a 50% playoff appearance pct.
JTJ is at 44% after breaking a 2 season drought.
Despite missing the last two before this one, JTJ has made 6 of the last 9 and 7 of 11
Randal participated in his 10th season and now is in the "top half" of the record book. Only Steve has been in less than 10 seasons of the current group. In fact, the current group ahs been the same over the past five seasons.
Best record won for the 23rd time.
The Std Dev on record was one of the highest ones, rating 54th highest at 9.1.
The difference between the the best and worst record was 30 games which is the highest in 10 seasons.
