So we rendered the game's best (ie ATG) relievers useless and created an environment where most every team's pitching strategy is about the same. Or at least, it is essentially always going to give decent results because it is a script most follow. It isn't the only way, but due to the wide margin of success, certainly is always in play almost no matter the circumstances.

We did two extreme things simultaneously: made the prices higher on said relievers AND tweaked the bullpen business rules(and controls) and so we threw the baby out with the bathwater from v2 to v3, IMO.

Scorched earth the whole thing and now we have that waiver wire that always looks the same except maybe in 200M or non cap leagues.
Teams mostly look nothing like an actual pitching staff.
Not that they have to, but oddly that was the whole reason to address "super relievers" in the first place--this cute little unreachable ideal called "realism"

When it's time for ATG10 to roll out (whenever that might be) the first thing on my list would be to address the fallout from the ATG9 simultaneous bullpen rule changes and reliever price increases. It needs to be brought into balance one way or another.

I'm not advocating for a return to the glory days of Bruce Sutter winning 30 games for some managers, but let's at least get him back into the game at caps below 200m.

Nothing to add. This is on the nose Bill

Agreed, seemed like a double whammy on reliever strategy, upping their price and restricting their usage. The result is the Four Ace strategy in mid to lower caps is a great strategy. Seems like lowering reliever prices would make it more balanced.

I would say ditch the bullpen v3, and slightly RAISE the price of relievers. All they really needed to do was use salary to control the roster, like they do anyway with ALL OTHER PLAYERS. Murray should be able to pitch his 300 innings, but it should cost a manger $!0 for the privelage.

Hack! yes Sir--been a while buddy. Seemed like we were on each others' heels in every league for a while

Listen here Black and Decker--just cause it's Christmas time we don't need any mangers in SOMO...and using a wildcard character in front of a zero--that there is dangerous. 20M? 30M?!!!!
kidding of course--I don't know you well enough to use that much sarc...

anyway we can all agree it was too much of one thing. Turn down the squelch and let's open the game back up a little so that awesome historical relievers can have a role again, though not 300 innings and 30 wins
