Even for me -- and I don't even *have* a pick.

If we are not through the first round by tomorrow evening, then the clock will kick in on Thursday morning. This draft needs to get moving.

Please do not count on me to be available to process proxies or prod folks along on Wednesday since I will be on return flights home throughout the day.

Additionally, be prepared for the clock to remain on through the holiday weekend. Be ready to proxy if holiday plans will keep you away from your assigned times.

It always seems to fail without any logic behind it, but I'd moved that the first round of the prospect and FA drafts be amended to timed rounds.

If we have timed rounds 2-10, why not 1?

The only argument that makes sense against a timed first round is "everyone is excited for the draft to start, so there's no need for a timer!!!" Apparently this is not the case.

And meanwhile our commissioner is balancing a trip with running this draft. Kudos to you Cal, that's a lot to handle at once. It's appreciated.

So vote it down or don't even bring it up for a vote, but I will, now and always, be in favor of timed first rounds (and weekends for that matter, but no need to open too many cans of worms at one time).

I have no picks for the first 3 rounds, so feel free to hit me w/proxies any time, if needed.
