mlbphan trades:

OF-Jordan Walker

to GoRM for:

his 2024 10th rd FA pick (#107)
his 2025 2nd rd FA pick (TBD)

this trade is contingent upon the players I’m looking at are still available when it comes around to pick #108.
if the players are no longer available then this trade is VOID & Ghost will make his pick.

thanx,
Rick

Ghost’s slot is up. Need to know if this contingent deal is going through from both parties please.

Anyone want Shane Bieber-SP for a remaining pick?

Just post it if you do.

But also know he’s going for TJS

Wow, that came out of nowhere. What a shame, great spring and great start to the season.

This is why in my plus 10 years of keeper leagues, I think I've drafted two, three at best pitchers in prospect drafts. Rarely, if ever a winning proposition. They either never pan out, or end up on the carving table. Draft the hitters and trade them for pitchers later on.

Since 2015 up to 2021 (too early to judge the latter years), these are the top 10 pitchers from the mlb draft each year:
Dillon Tate, Tyler Jay, Carson Fullmer, Ian Anderson, Riley Pint, AJ Puk, Braxton Garrett, Cal Quantrill, Matt Manning, Hunter Green, Mackenzie Gore, Kyle Wright, Casey Mize, Ryan Weathers, Carter Stewart, Nick Lodolo, Max Meyer, Asa Lacy, Emerson Hancock, Reid Detmers, Jack Leiter, Jackson Jobe, Frank Mozzicato, Sam Bachman, Kumar Rocker.

How many of these guys were the next Pedro?? Something to keep in mind

Something to keep in mind considering the upcoming prospect draft with the "next Roger Clemens" sure to be a high pick ;)
If I get bored I may decide to research this league's prospect drafts over the same timeline.

I would find that research very entertaining.

I sometimes look back at old drafts and see where guys went, both free agent and prospects

Not sure I’d be giving away my team building strategies but neat info. The other theory would be draft LOTSof pitchers and hopefully one or two makes it through.
