I will take over for the remainder of the draft. I will tell all of you that I work on the Left Coast and drive a semi. I work 55 to 60 hours a week. I am home almost every night but only have about 3 hours to eat and get stuff done before I go to bed. Nothing will be updated until after 5pm PST. You will need to make sure you check and see if players that you want have already been drafted in the last or current round. I have a camera in my truck and if I even pick up my phone my dash cam goes off and I get a call. I don't touch my phone during work hours when I am driving. I stop 3 to 5 times a day and check it but won't spend the time updating or fixing any problems. That is the deal.
I also work in transportation like Mike. I operate a high speed train (locomotive engineer/train driver) for Amtrak between NYC & Boston, Massachusetts rountrip 5 days a week with weekends off. I also must have my phone powered off from the time I signup in the am til I sign off in the pm which is usually 12 to 14 hours per day except for my layovers in Boston between trains.
I apologize to Rant for not stating my thoughts directly to him via email vs on here in the forum. He’s an amazing commissioner for this league & in general so I would really like him to stay on in his current capacity. I’m already in a 24 team that uses a clock on weekends but I understand that’s because it’s a 24 team league where drafts can be excruciatingly long.
I play this game for two reasons. my love for baseball & to escape an extremely stressful job during the week. I always said that once this starts to become not fun & a job then it’s time for me to hang it up. I’ll play out season1 & see where this goes before the supplemental draft. I’ll let Rant know whether I’m staying or not so he has time to find a replacement.
