Why does Tyler Rogers have an asterisk after his name?

Good question. They used to do that to denote Left Handed, but he’s not a lefty and now it’s just a seperate column

I know he has a twin but it's not like they have the same name.

The Ratings Guide denotes left handed pitchers with an * after their name. Like Sale, C*. Right handed pitchers have just their last name and first initial.

Rogers is right handed but he shows like this: Rogers*, T. He's the only one that I see shown like that.

A formatting error that carried over from the ratings guide to the online game. Either that or SOM is now noting submariners lol.

Thanks for the replies guys. Do I draft him or Gabe Speier? My ballpark is PNC.

The Giants have two guys named T. Rogers, so one of them gets an asterisk. (Not sure why, but they've done it that way for a while.)

T. Rogers is a liiiiitle bit better vs. LHH. They are the basically the same vs. RHH. That's my opinion from the Ratings Guide.

Given your park (7-4 for HR's) I would grab Speier. Rogers' C1 bumps his price up a bit. There's no reason for you to pay for that.

Speier's 7 BPHR's vs. RHH's will mostly turn into outs in your home park. Plus he's $.84 cheaper than Rogers. So you can put that money into upgrading another reliever, or your subs.

Thanks Palmanta. We are in a 24 team keeper with an unlimited cap. I was really torn on who to take and ultimately decided to go with Rogers. It leaves me with just one lefty in the pen but Rogers will act as a LH specialist.

In real life, I thought Speier had a better year than Rogers but it wasn't clear to me that the cards reflected it. I got a bit scared off by the HRs too.

Your park would negate Speier's BPHR's but maybe the teams in your division would beat up on him in their Ballparks. IDK. When in doubt, make a team that will excel in your Home Park. Another reason for my recommendation is that, when I play in an Autoleague, it's fun to have an extra Million to noodle around with Pre-Season. GL to you.
