Yeah, Randy is off to a good start but has cooled a bit of late. We have them tonight and we're hoping to keep that downward trend for him going! ;)

F. Bautista (L, 9-1) BS(5) 2.2 3 5 5 5 4 0 46

An impressive line from allegedly one of the best closers in the set for our 21st blown save, last night!

In the glass half full category, his 5 blown saves includes only one loss.

The BS "leaders". Always stinks to get a bunch of them.

Code: Select all
Team                        W   L       S   BS
Elysian Park Swingers       43   38   21   22
Bonn Braumeisters           40   41   20   16
Hudson Valley              39   42   19   14
Madison County Cardinals   40   41   28   14

On the other side of the coin is Jeep who is sitting at 85% and two of his 4 BS are from his .50 guy. Alvarado is 17 and 0!

Meanwhile, a quiet "deadline'. Only move was a minor one by Randy, but Miller and Jeep made moves over the weekend.

I had a a few last minute moves lined up and got distracted and never made them.

Big series, tonight, against the league leading Lightning!

Looks like my team is following the time honored tradition of beating teams with lower win % and playing .500 vs teams better. Looking for Keith to tack on a few more blown saves tonight though. 2-4 against him so need to bring that up near .500.

Per Randy's request, we were able to tack on 2 more blown saves, but luckily, we were able to fight back and win one of those to take the series.

Now, we have the privilege of hosting the 2nd best record in the league, JTJ. We made a minor move in preparation to hopefully help shore up the bullpen.

Thanks KLX. I'll try to get a look at the teams before too long.

Speaking of anomalies, Strider was having a pretty good season before his last starts.

In four of those starts he was absolutely crushed,

25.1 IP, 28 ERs!!!!!!

If you throw in the 2 starts before that, you're looking at

38.2 and 36 ERs.

Hoping he figures out how to right the ship!

Here are our SP ERAs

1. Strider, S. (R, E) S6 6-7 4.80
2. Valdez, F. (L, 2R) S6 4-6 4.74
3. Alcantara, S. (R, E) S6 8-5 4.71
4. Henry, T. (L, 3R) S5 3-3 3.53 (replaced Mikolas who was at 7.75)
5. Williamson, B. (L, E) S5 8-4 4.61

I don't think these guys are *that* bad. With these numbers, hard to see how we have the record we have. Oh, yeah, I guess if your hitters are over performing to lead the league in runs, your pitching can be bad, and you still win games.
