Rule changes are always possible, as long as 2/3 of the teams approve the change.

Maybe I understand this. If we make the roster sizes 30, for example. The additional five players would come from the players remaining who haven't been drafted. We're pretty close to the end of the draft in season 7. Who among the remaining players is going to help your team that you can't get with your last few picks?

For us under salaried, already using two under 1m catchers or infielders as starters, it would at least cover injuries. When a .67 starter goes out for 10-15 games, from a platoon, imagine the backup plan! Just saying it would close gap of rosters operating with 20m more, if only so slightly

I don't watch the other teams' rosters. But, if this is an issue for a few teams, that's enough for me.

As we can all see, decent players are not going to appear just because we expand rosters and the draft. Some teams (like my Liverpool Clowns for the moment) don't need the extra picks. One possibility is to have an emergency free agent pool (everyone undrafted) from which players and pitchers can be taken 1st come 1st served. Rights would not be retained at the end of the season. Terry could adjudicate the requests based on injury replacement (what else would it be?). The injury requests would have to be genuinely impactful, it isn't enough to just want to drop someone doing their Mario Mendoza impression.

Draft up a concise rule change, Meat, and post it here for each team to vote on. 12 Teams have to vote Yes for it to pass.

I think the overall issue may be more related to the span of years each season is covering. I'm in one of Andy's Alt leagues and while there have been some seasons where I struggled to hit the salary cap, I think there it was more of a side effect of his franchise rule (who I've had available as my franchise players each season) than anything else.

There, players that may go 4 or 5 seasons are done in 2 or 3 three here. It is a bit tricky to find that right balance so you don't end up with a season like JF's here with only 4 or 5 players still on your roster going into the draft. It's why I took Musial over Williams or Dimaggio in Season 5, and why it was a struggle for me to pass on Aaron this year.

Another unforeseen reasoning for the cap deficiencies, especially in the championship league, is the fact that if you draft a superstar, on average, if your team is solid enough all around to keep getting promoted, you only get them for 1 or maybe 2 seasons in the Championships league. And once you lose an 11m+ player, you'll never be able to fully replace them financially unless you slide back down over a couple of seasons to get back in to that top 4-6 picks. I went from salary cap struggles in season 5 to 9m under in season 6 with the Twisted Arms when Roger Hornsby retired.

Personally, I'm ok with it, but I'm not against hearing proposals for a possible fix. I see both sides, on one it's a managerial struggle where sometimes playing the long game is more important, vs the probable experience of suffering through some VERY rough seasons over the course of our 15 (or 16 or whatever it is now) seasons of this league.

Just my $.02.
