I'll make the argument again for more $40M, $50M, $60M leagues to get more lower priced cards into play.

Yesterday on Baseball Reference, Vic Davalillo was a picture on the home page. I looked at his stats b/c I never heard of this guy. I was surprised that he had 2 ATG cards in the $1-1.2M range. He's a 1 and 2 usage. No wonder I never heard of him.

However, in a low cap league, I can certainly see using him as a CF-2 platoon vs. righty, or bench/pinch hitter with non-DH leagues.

Davalillo was one of the throwback players in the 60s and 70s when offense from CF wasn't paramount but a luxury....so many guys prospered by being able to hit .250-.300 with no power but play good to better defense....Blefary, Blair, Matty Alou, Willie Davis, Willie McGee, the list would be endless.....good player, Indians, Pirates, at least if I remember correctly, and pretty sure played for a couple more teams if not more....

Vic was a pretty good pinch hitter for the Dodgers toward the end of his career. 95 career pinch hits puts him in the top 30 all time!

They are all useful cards in the right contexts.

Would support some sort of usage-based pricing, but that would seem way too complicated to ever get implemented. Perhaps easier would be a new injury system that would automatically limit Gates' and Jordy's playing time to realistic levels. (Also, Gates played 1 inning at 1B in '68.....his card should not qualify there.)

Personally I'd like to add more "secret weapons." More bit players. More LHSP who destroy RH hitters, for example.

This might be accommodated to a degree by having one special addition ballot for SP with under 100 IP and hitters between 100 and 300 PA.

I like when Strat cards have "easter eggs." Anyone else ever notice the singular peculiarities of the '74 Joe Lovitto and 1894 Cap Anson cards, for example?

Then there's '85 Rickey Henderson, whose card has solid on-base chances on the sweet dice rolls of 6-7-8 across all 3 columns vs LHP. Have not seen another card like that. (I have heard that the '85 set has some misprints, so IDK if it actually plays that way.)

More fun, new, and quirky cards please!

OK, I will bite. What are the singular peculiarities of those two cards? Lovitto has a boatload of GBA's and Anson is pretty good against LHP...otherwise?

Anson, like Tubby Scales only has an injury vs. LH pitching. But as far as I know there is nothing "Easter egg" -ish about Lovitto.

I don't think massive price adjustments are vital but identifying certain problematic or underwhelming cards would make for prudent selections. A badly overpriced expensive card can ruin your season and a high impact cheap card can dominate. Duncan costing 1.15M is outrageous.

Right about Anson and had not realized that about Tubby. Cool! Has anyone tested if the missing Inj chance is for real or a misprint?

'74 Lovitto is a CF-3(e9) but a RF-4(e17). Are there other cards with different "e" ratings across OF positions?

I have never got less than 600 AB's out of Tubby, so pretty sure that his only injury is vs. lefties.
