Wild Card

PostSun Aug 11, 2024 1:29 pm

I am in a league and there was a three way tie for the Wild Card Spot.
The Pilots had the following record vs the other two teams they were tied with:
- 8 - 4 vs Wild
- 8 - 4 vs Shufflers
and yet the Pilots did not make the playoffs. How is that possible?

From the Game Rules:

Tiebreakers for a 2-way tie are, in order:
- Head-to-head record vs. each other
- Run differential overall
- Coin flip
Tiebreakers for a 3-way tie are, in order:
- Best record vs. teams within division
- Run differential overall
- Coin flip

Helpful indeed, I had never heard of that rule. I can't say I agree with it. Head-to-head could still be used as a 3-way tie-breaker... as long as one team beat the other two, like the Pilots did. Oh well, get 'em next time!
