AI Bots

AI Bots (AKA "It") have been intruding on the Boards for the past year or so.

smithcae's post, below, is an example. "It" uses information from a previous post (that of Big Fred Whitfield in this case) to generate its response. The grammar is perfect, the content is spot on...but their are tells. The post is always "Its" first one ....It always bumps a thread from at least a month in the past...incongruous words or phrases appear. In this post, "poly clinic" makes no sense....Also, Big Fred used "Harold" in his post. So does smithcae. Who else would call Hal, Harold, other than his Mother (and Big Fred)?

I'm going to sticky this thread for a bit so managers in this forum become aware of this minor concern. PM me if you see an AI Bot post that I (or tdkearns, thank you for your diligence) missed. Or click on the "!" in the post to report it.

I've let SOM know that AI Bot's are here. I come across, and delete, a few posts/month by It. I don't want to see It run rampant though. So post here, or let SOM know, if you have suggestions on how to eliminate AI Bots from posting?

newbie, only a handful of teams completed, 2nd handful ongoing

Harold is mercilessly crucifying some teams.....torching really good pitching, and another with supreme lefty masher playing the past 12 games in 75% hitters park (for LHB), and with guys like Ruth, Griffey and others, somehow the team only scores approximately 27-30 runs or so total, and loses 11 of 12

on the other hand, he's somehow been on vacation for 3 out of 4 of my most recently completed teams, allowing them to sneak 3 championships, and in all 3 playoffs made

You’re experiencing quite the rollercoaster with Harold’s performance of poly clinic. It's always a bit of a gamble when the AI has such a strong influence on your team's outcomes. What fascinates me is why would anyone care or do this? These posts don’t advertise anything or direct you anywhere or ask you to download a virus. Maybe they are just practicing to plant some kind of virus in the future? Be careful out there!

But yeah, the "why" is fascinating here.

I'm amazed at how people have free time and the motivation to do bots, hacking, whatever. Soooo strange. In my hey day, a "hack" was just a good swinging ballplayer, ha!
