I concur that the stadium identity must be maintained and that there should be a "nucleus" of players on the roster. Just not certain how many players we should mandate be in the core.

What if we required teams to retain the original four players that they select in the initial league draft until such time as they are (a) released by their MLB team, (b) retire, (c) are traded to another MLB team, or (d) replaced by a "franchise" pick in future free-agent drafts? In the first three instances, managers would be required to draft a "replacement" player from their eponymous franchise to maintain the "core of 4". In the latter case, the new franchise pick would simply be substituted for the released individual.

Keep the ideas coming, guys. I've been working on this one for a while and would like to play this first season as written in the initial rules. Looking at the "core of four" or similar ideas, though, would certainly be worthy of discussion prior to using the next card set.
