Is Pete McQueen the Sneakiest .50 Card In Strat?

PostTue Sep 10, 2024 1:33 pm

Has anyone taken a look at that card? every hit on the left side (25+) is a double. The right side almost has 40 hits, all singles. Can't field a lick and can't run, but damn if I'm not curious what a full DH season with him would look like in a low cap league. Anybody ever used the guy?

And on the subject, what are some other super-cheap cards that folks have used?

I have t used him but that card looks pretty good for .5.

As for other cheap cards Glenn Wilson 1987 Philadelphia rf 1 (-4). Decent bat for the price too .89m

Two Sides Wesley at .50 is pretty good, plays a lot of positions. Big triples.

agree with Hack about Wesley

can play 2B, 1B, and RF all at "3" defensively....and in a RHB park, his card gets a few bonus HRs.....not gonna hit for high average....but, versatile for the right squad needing some backup def players

I was pretty excited when I saw that McQueen card-- thought he would make a nice little pinch-hitter.

He went 3 for 45. Zero doubles (every at-bat was against a righty!) Such a bummer.
The good news is, he's due for a great performance now. Law of averages, and all that. He'll be on my next team for sure.

I've always been a big willard marshall guy for that obp (also he can play both lf and rf). but mcqueen looks interesting and i might give him a go one of these days.

Rob Picciolo is sneaky, all hits and no gbA's on his card.

Ernie Riles is a nice bargain against RHP's.

This is the one. Viable platoon partner all the way up to RHP-heavy $140 leagues.

Well, Harry Williams was a hidden gem. I've had some great results from that little card.
