HR robberies should be off, especially since wall height is a factor and Strat doesn't provide wall height data for ATG parks.

depending on the type of team you are fielding, defensively Killifer is a14 throwing rating and a 5 passed ball. No comparison to Molina in that regard. I wouldn’t use him in a small ball team

In regards as a backup those are going to be minimal differences. We’re talking what maybe 30-35 starts out of a backup? I wouldn’t call Molina better by a mile off of 10 passed balls

I feel like when I used to play the PC version with old parks it would come into play. It's been a number of years since I played it though. Maybe it's just for parks with Super-Advanced seasons?

I am kind of ambivalent on Molina. Yes, his defense is impeccable. But using him is like the Frankie Crosetti experience... great glove, a handful of homers, and a .190 average.

I'll use him as a backup if available (which is seldom), but I'm totally fine with Manwaring, I don't see a ton of teams building around the stolen base anymore. Or if I'm platooning and have a speed team in my division I will get Zunino and spot start him in that series.

Of all the backup positions I think catcher is most important, just before SS. Petway is a favorite of mine for his defense and his -4 arm, plus the fact that he's a switch hitter gives him a few extra opportunities for hits when he's hitting against a pitcher's weak side.

I actually might argue that the cheaper Kingman card is the better value at 1/3 the price.

A good follow up to this discussion would be, "if these cards are indeed values based on their performance, then what is being missed in the pricing model?"

What's not a bargain is having to pay 25 bucks per team.
