For those who have the time and patience, the DIY function on the Dope site still works, and can be used to generate the results that the card reader used to give us.

Please, Strat, do something to keep this invaluable resource available to us.

I too am in a bit of a panic with Diamond Dope down. Luckily, the recurring league I’m in with a new season on tap were using the same ballparks, so my Diamond Dope-fueled spreadsheet is already built. Otherwise … not sure I’d be sleeping at night! I wonder though as I read LeGrande Orange and other’s statements about hanging it up … “are they less addicted than me?” Me saying I’d give up Strat is about the same as a crystal meth addict saying they’re giving up meth!

Very happy to see that Strat is involved in finding a solution. If crowd funding is part of a solution, this addict is in. And I’m so happy to learn Adrian’s name as the creator of DD. Huge thank you!

Do we have an idea how much it would cost to host the old site for a year?

I mean, we have 20+ people here saying they'd chip in.

I'd love to see the key elements of Diamond Dope available on the main Strat site. Hopefully all of the new ATG cards would be added automatically, rather than the community keying the data.

If Strat has a new development team in place for 365, then it seems like this should be the first project for them to tackle.

Such a great resource. I feel like Strat should be supporting this service. I have to believe the existence of that resource only encourages people to create(buy) teams. It honestly is almost the best part of having a strat team. The drafting; evaluating players, building the team. A process made so much more appealing by the service of Diamond Dope!

prjr - I completely agree with you. If you'd like to help it can be useful to let STRAT know what you are thinking by sending them a note and telling them directly, they do not monitor these chats.

Just FYI, I told Adrian some years back that I would consider hosting the site. A couple of weeks ago when this all started, he did drop me an email that he wanted to talk to me. I did give him a call and suggested that I would be willing to give porting it over to me a shot with a virtual machine behind my firewall and whatever help he could give me to troubleshoot it.

That being said, I declared that I am a hardware guy and not a programmer but I would do my best.

I put him "in touch" with the appropriate SOM personnel but he has told me that they have not directly responded to him.

Now I have tried two more times to try to get this moving with Adrian but he has gone on silent running as far as replying to me or any other positive signs.

I doubt that he is making progress with SOM but I would HOPE that I am wrong about that. At least I wish he would reply to the most recent emails I sent and let me know where he is on what "solution" someone reported that he is working on.

I want to see it up and running as much as all of you do but the logistics of porting over a 20 year old set of program codes and databases can be daunting for ANYONE willing to give it a try, SOM included. And a man in retirement can lack motivation.

Let's hope we see some signs soon.

I can't speak for Adrian but in my conversation with him I get the distinct feeling that he just wants to put it all behind him. Even if he were to turn over all code to me I doubt he would be a lot of help in answering my questions on helping me troubleshoot or modify it. He stated that he has forgotten most of what he coded. I mean, he was a programmer by profession but when that much time passes, I can completely understand technology passing you by in favor of a much more leisurely retirement life.
