25.1 Nominations are Open!

I swapped out Dave Collins for 1948 Gene Bearden, but Collins verbiage still there. I didn’t see Bearden in the player set or on the current list before my nomination. Did I make a mistake?

14. 2006 Joel Zumaya. RP Detroit Tigers. 83 IPs with 97 K's, 233 ERA+, 10,5 K per 9ip, 0.6 HR/9, an RP only who can pitch 2/3 innings
15. 1969 Mack Jones MON LF Bats-L Career-high .270 BA, .379 OBP, .488 SLG, 867 OPS, 22 HR & 79 RBI. Darling of the first-year Montreal Expo fans, the left-field bleachers in Jarry Park were nicknamed "Jonesville." He hit the very first HR in a Major League regular season game in Canada and was a major part of making baseball in Montreal a success. 10-year veteran currently has no ATG card, and deserves one badly.
16. 1984 Alejandro Pena, RHSP, Dodgers 12-6 2.48 1.164 Led N.L. in ERA and ShO. Career bests in GS, W, IP, ShO, HR9, K and BB/9. Pena blew out his arm the following year, but reinvented himself as a pretty good relief pitcher.

18. 2011 Starlin Castro - CHC - SS - Slashline: .307/.341/.432 - League leader in hits with 207 and was an All-Star in his age 21 season (2011). 12 total seasons in the MLB with 1,722 career hits. Key player in the Cubs 'rebuild years' of the 2010s and would add to the Cubs ATG SS options.
19. 1948 Gene Bearden. CLE. LH S/R. Key member of the Tribe’s last championship. Knuckle curve that induced 42 GIDP. 20-7, 2.43 ERA. 229 IP. Completed 15 of his 29 starts. 6 shutouts. Only 9HR allowed. WW2 vet who survived a torpedo sinking in which he sustained a fractured skull and crushed kneecap. Made the bigs at age 27. Beat the Red Sox in a 1-game playoff to get his team into the series. Pitched a shutout in Game 3, then saved the clincher. This season was his only shining moment, but it still gleams today.
