sweet dice rolls for his five at bats, 2-6,2-6,2-4,2-4,2-4. Didnt even need the ballpark for a boost.

Nice! One of my all-time favorites growing up in Pittsburgh then. I remember waiting outside Three Rivers Stadium in 1979 when he walked out to sign autographs along with a few other Pirates, a humble giant and all-around great ambassador for the game and city. He had a restaurant in the Hill District (like NYC's Harlem) and whenever he would homer, everyone in the restaurant got free chicken. Everyone loved him; sadly, he passed way too young.

His favorite stadium when I grew up was without a doubt...

Jarry Park in Montréal...

He hit so many bombs over the right field fence and into the swimming pool beyond...

Pops was one of the greatest...

Stargell was a STRONG man, no doubt. And natural that way. He was one of a few players to hit a home run out of Dodger Stadium, and he did it twice -- 506 feet, 470 feet. See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBf8gm3jGBU

I was there in 1973. Stargell and McCovey were the hitters I feared the most as a young Dodger fan!

I always used this named, his given name, like some announcers did also, but I always used the Mr. Ed accent haha

As a kid growing up in the 70’s in S.F. there was only one player not a Giant that I loved to watch, Wilver Stargell was a lefty of course and his windmill windups, cranking the bat like a toothpick back and forth, and as someone mentioned his natural power, humble, yes he was everything that was right with the game.
I’m a right handed hitter and learned to hit left by mimicking Pops at bats. I carried that lefty stroke for years playing softball into my 50’s.
Imagine if he had played in a hitters park he’d easily of eclipsed 700.
