Darling of the first-year Montreal Expo fans, the left-field bleachers in Jarry Park were nicknamed "Jonesville." He hit the very first HR in a Major League regular season game in Canada and was a major part of making baseball in Montreal a success. 10-year veteran currently has no ATG card, and deserves one badly.

19. 1948 Gene Bearden. CLE. LH S/R. Key member of the Tribe’s last championship. Knuckle curve that induced 42 GIDP. 20-7, 2.43 ERA. 229 IP. Completed 15 of his 29 starts. 6 shutouts. Only 9HR allowed. WW2 vet who served honorablty during the war. Played on several service clubs. Made the bigs at age 27. Beat the Red Sox in a 1-game playoff to get his team into the series. Pitched a shutout in Game 3, then saved the clincher. This season was his only shining moment, but it still gleams today.

Hope we have more votes for Debs Garms, a great alternative to Phil Weintraub -- Garms is a small ball lefty killer against righties. More extra base power. I like Vanderwal for bomber parks.
