Rick (mlbphan) is an engineer for Amtrak. When he's on a run it's impossible for him to check messages.

I know he got timed out once, but I for one don't think he should get skipped twice.

Perhaps, tough to connect from a train in the middle of nowhere.

But exceptions are tough. There is a mechanism to accomodate him -- proxies. If he knows he's gonna be on a ride, he needs to leave proxies. That's what joker did and his pick went off without even a bump. DC and Mep did same. In a 24 team league, momentum is very important.

fyi -- I did email him at 6pm EST. Asked if he wanted to give proxies or to even give him a list of players for a position and he could choose. Hopefully, he'll check in in a bit. At worst, four more picks go before the night closes out.

Like toshiro said, we are usually pretty good about helping each other out through proxies. The schedule is published with reasonable time to understand it and plan for the next day.

Regardless, the draft won't get any farther than pick 49 tonight, unless Rick checks in and makes his picks soon, because if Rick does not check in soon, pick 50 will not be scheduled until morning.

If you know you will have trouble making a pick at your scheduled time, please send a proxy to me and, ideally, one other person that you trust to be on top of things (in case I am unable to get to my messages in time).
