When a team leads in both offense (runs) and ERA...

How often does this happen? Examples? I have one here, but way below their Pythagorean expectations:

83-52 now, Pythagorean expects 91-44.

might just be me, but i think that's like comparing oranges and tangerines (almost same, but not)

runs scored on offense calculate all runs scored total against oppontents...earned and unearned

i think the direct comparison to offense runs scored is "runs allowed" (all), which takes into consideration defense, etc....

not that your combination has no value, just thinking the direct comparison would be all runs scored from both offense and allowed by pitching/defense

All true, but it's worth noting that Hack's team also leads in RA as well as ERA.

I could only find two teams of mine that led in RS and RA

https://365.strat-o-matic.com/league/stats/teams/456840
https://365.strat-o-matic.com/league/stats/teams/471513

And two more that led in RS and ERA (which I agree is not the proper goal)

https://365.strat-o-matic.com/league/stats/teams/462551
https://365.strat-o-matic.com/league/stats/teams/465796

That last one only won 83 games and missed the playoffs by 4 games lol

I thought I'd done it more often than that but it looks pretty rare! I've got 8 teams with +295 or better run diff and only the best one I linked above managed the feat.

83 wins for a +184 runs team is wild. Wild in a bad way.

Absolutely agreed, runs allowed is a much better yardstick than ERA (which I looked at because SOM initially sorts the pitching that way.)

Spectacular teams, Max -- quite an accomplishment to achieve this at the $200M level, wow.
